Perks to quarantine!

This week was pretty great! There are some really good perks to quarantine! Here are just a few:

-When we teach people on the phone we can mute it so they can't hear us talking to each other about what to say or do next!
-We don't have to plan any travel time!
-We can meet with more people a day
-We have mission wide zoom meetings every week
-We've been able to have more lessons with members.
-More members are available to join lessons with our investigators!
-We can reach more people through social media!
-We can think more about what to say to people we meet on Facebook and send them videos, pictures, scriptures, and songs!
-Members like to bring us food and stuff all the time!

The hardest part of quarantine for me is being in the apartment all day with the same person and not being able to talk to other people in person. I also have a lot of wiggles I have to get out. Facebook doesn't like me cause it thinks I'm a scammer when really I'm just trying to bless peoples lives! So sometimes it won't let me friend people, but it won't stop me cause I still message them. We got another companion on Friday! Her name is Sister McEntire and she's from Utah too. She's super nice and fun.

For Easter we painted rocks and wrote our testimonies with some candy inside of Easter eggs and put them around the park! It was really fun! Our ward had an Easter zoom meeting that Ryan and Carina were able to join!

This week we found two new people from Facebook finding! One of them was a guy who was actually already in our area book! We had tried to call him and his phone was disconnected so we decided to try to stop by after quarantine. We didn't even know it was the same person when we started messaging him on Facebook! The Lord still leads us to his sons and daughters who are prepared to receive the gospel! He is really cool. He grew up Hindu, but has been studying Christianity for ten years and said it seems to resonate with him better. He really wants to be a good example to his family and is looking for a church community!

I really like this scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 3:1-3
"The works, and the designs, and the purposes of God cannot be frustrated, neither can they come to naught.
For God doth not walk in crooked paths, neither doth he turn to the right hand nor to the left, neither doth he vary from that which he hath said, therefore his paths are straight, and his course is one eternal round.
Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men;"

The works of God cannot be frustrated! The Lord knew that this would happen and he chose us to be his coronavirus missionaries!

I have a record of 3 marriage proposals on my mission now. One was in person a few months ago, but I got 2 more in the last few weeks. It makes me uncomfortable, but it's also funny.

This week I posted on some of the community pages about family history. I got a couple of comments from people who said they were interested so we set up two appointments to do family history! They went really well and we explained why we do family history to take names to the temple. While we were talking to one lady we were confused cause she said she lived in New York. So after we hung up we checked to see what community page I posted on and I accidentally posted on the Salem New York page and not the Salem Michigan page! My bad hahaha! The New York sisters were really grateful for the referrals!

Hope you have a good week everyone!

Love,
Sister Butler
