My first Baptism!
Hello everyone!
This week was awesome! On Thursday we went to Walmart to buy some water bottles, but we couldn't find any anywhere! Then later that night we found out that there was going to be a big ice storm on Saturday so that's why all the water was gone! The next day our former bishop texted us and told us to top our gas off, buy water, get lots of blankets, phone chargers, flash lights, and food so that when the ice storm came we would be prepared! So then on Friday we were scrambling all day trying to prepare ourselves for a natural disaster and figure out what we were going to do for our baptism on Saturday morning! On Saturday morning the roads were super wet, but they weren't too bad, so we went ahead with the baptism! It turned out really well and it was such an amazing experience to see Eboney and Cierra get baptized. I absolutely love them! Sister Timmerman and I sang I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus with Sister Timmerman's ukelele for their baptism and they loved that.
After the baptism we just hung out with the senior companion couple all day. They got permission from our mission president to let us sleep at their house Saturday night! It surprised me that he would let us do that, but the ice storm was suppose to be super serious I guess. Nothing really happened though. Just lots of rain, but nothing froze too bad. It was so much fun to sleep over and play rummikub with them though.
One of my favorite scriptures is in Doctrine and Covenants that says "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers" I know that God works through people who are humble!
Today Eboney gave me a weave and it was awesome! Next time I'll have to get some corn rows when it's more appropriate.
Last pday we went around taking pictures next to some of our favorite abandoned buildings! Now everyone can see what Flint looks like! Enjoy!
