We are not forgotten
Hello Everyone!
Not gonna lie, this week was a tough one. The stay home order got extended until May 15th. My patience is really being tried here. Aaaahhhhh! Sometimes I wish we had a punching bag in our apartment to get out all my frustration. I guess I'll just keep jump roping. Now that I've mastered the splits on both sides I'm trying to jump rope cross cross style! Haha!
Good news is that we are helping 2 people get ready for baptism in May, and now 1 more in June! Woohoo!
The scripture that has been getting me through quarantine is 1Ne 21:14-16:
14 But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.
15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
I read that when I was trying to find some peace and comfort. Since coming out on my mission there have been many times where I've felt like I've been forgotten. Like hello up there! Don't you see I'm working my bum off here and nothing is happening?! What am I doing wrong? Where are you?
Through a lot of trial and error I've learned a lot! Seeking inspiration and revelation from the Lord isn't an easy task! It requires great effort and diligence! Just because we're missionaries doesn't mean we're automatically spiritual giants. The Lord loves effort! Sometimes he just wants us to figure it out on our own. He hasn't left us and he hasn't forgotten us. He will show that he hath not. He loves us perfectly and infinitely. He has a physical reminder of his love for us engraven upon the palms of his hands.
Hope you're all doing well!
Love,
Sister Butler
