Here Comes the Flood!
Hello Wonderful People!
On Sunday I had to say goodbye to my favorite companion, Sister Perez :( Her bishop and his wife came to pick her up and they drove her home to Chicago. She taught me so much. She literally changed how I do and see missionary work for the rest of my mission. I don't think I would have survived this long in quarantine without her and her spontaneous tickle fights and dance parties.
Now it's just Sister McEntire and I! Not for long though, because in June our mission is going from 103 missionaries to 280! President called it a flood of missionaries! I'm excited to get new missionaries from all over with different talents and perspectives. We're going to be huge! I'll probably be in a trio for the rest of my mission! It's so crazy. A lot of things are going to change pretty soon. I am really hoping that I get to stay in Northville next transfer for Ryan and Carina's baptisms.
This week we had a super cool lesson with Carina. She was really concerned about not being able to be sealed to her 3 little boys because she's going through a divorce and her husband doesn't want the boys to go to church with her. We talked about worrying about the things that she can control, and how Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for all of his children. I love in 1 Nephi 11 when Nephi says I know that God loveth his children, nevertheless I do not know the meaning of all things. Later that night she sent us a text that said she her little boys had asked her to read more of 3 Nephi to them and then they fell asleep listening to her read. That was a sign to her that the Lord really does know the desires of her heart. That was the perfect Mothers Day gift for her and it made me so happy for her. Her and Ryan are the most solid people ever. They would both be baptized right now if it wasn't for Covid.
Hope you're all safe and happy! Have a good week!
Love,
Sister Butler
