Transfers & Temple

Hello backyard friends and country critters,

This week we had transfers on Monday and Sister Griffin and Sister Mason got transferred 😔 I was kind of nervous to get two new companions because I've only been in the area for one transfer, but it's been really good. I'm slowly getting to know everyone in the ward. I found out that a family I taught in Northville is getting baptized this month, and it makes my heart so happy! I miss them! ❤❤

I love my new companions Sister Parkinson and Sister Driggs. Sister Parkinson is from Burley, Idaho and Sister Driggs is from Phoenix, Arizona. She was reassigned from Brazil! She's teaching me Portuguese right now! I only know 4 words so far. 🇧🇷

We were sooo busy this week and I was super stressed out, but it turned out to be one of the best weeks of my whole life! The highlight was definitely when we got to go to the temple with Sister Parkinson. Her mom flew from idaho to go through the temple with her for her first time. It was so precious!! 😢 Our session was us and one other couple, so it was really intimate and special. I felt like I was going through for my first time again! I cried through the whole thing which is very unusual for me. I needed some spiritual strength and upliftment. 💪🧘‍♀️I understood everything so much better this time! I came out with a better perspective of the world, God, and about being a missionary. 🌎 It reminded of Tad R. Callisters talk about the Atonement of Jesus Christ a couple years ago. He talks about how the Atonement of Jesus Christ helps us overcome death, sin, our afflictions, and our imperfections. To overcome our afflictions he doesn't always take them away. Sometimes he give us an eternal perspective that in turn, lightens our burdens. It's kind of like Joseph of Egypt! He was able to be patient and forgive his brothers because he had an eternal perspective. He knew that God suffered him to be sold into Egpyt so that later he could save his family from the famine.

Our friend Leslie is still on date for October 17th! She's such a superstar! She loves reading from the Book of Mormon picture Book with us, and she will do anything to serve others.❤ 🐈 She even bore her testimony on Sunday about how she wouldn't know what to do without Jesus, and she wants to share the Book of Mormon with everyone she knows! Yay!

We started teaching another friend named Bill! He was super weary about the Book of Mormon, but he is really starting to like it now. He just wants to make sure that he isn't doing something that would offend God. He says he hasn't received any signs that he should stop, so he's gonna keep going! We had him read 2 Nephi 29 about how God is the one who decides when He is going to give us more of His word and not man. He felt really encouraged after reading that! He loves missionary work and serving others. I know he'll be such a solid member!

Oh my goodness! General conference is this week! I am so excited to hear what God wants to tell us through his prophet and apostles! I know that Russell M.  Nelson is God's prophet on the earth right now! We're going to write down all the questions and concerns we have and listen for how God answers them. I encourage all of you to do the same thing! It will be super cool! We will all receive major revelation! My new motto for this transfer is "Rev It Up!!" We say it all the time now before we pray or study! 😂

Love you all!
